Total Woman Tuesday’s: MARCH Forward; Interview with Keisha Hodge

The 2nd installment of a 3 part interview is here! 3 phenomenal women sharing 3 inspiring stories in 3 weeks! I’m giddy just thinking about it!

Keisha Hodge, this woman had me in tears, LITERALLY, from laughing when she shared her story of meeting and ultimately falling in love with her husband. She had me speechless as she shared the story of her upbringing and her determination to rise above her circumstances. And she had me pumping my fist for moms that have made the choice to be a stay at home mom. But I have to warn you; stay at home doesn’t mean not working! This woman works hard!!!!
Keisha taught me that your circumstances have nothing to do with your purpose. You have to make up in your mind that you will fight for the change you want to become! Preservation, Restoration, Determination, her life has it all!

There is sooo much that I can share, but I’ll allow you to read her interview below. You can find Keisha hosting an empowering call for wives on her conference line; The Two Shall Become One.

So….here’s Keisha

What is the best thing about being a woman?

The best thing about being a woman is that we can have the strength of 10 men when it comes to pushing out babies and protecting our children but, we can also have the strength of the most delicate flower when it comes to caring for and nurturing our children and others.

Sky high heels or comfortable flats – or are you some where in between?

Comfortable flats! Girlllllllllll, I have work to do!

If you could shake a bad trait out of women, what would it be?

Most women seem to have an instant dislike or be in instant competition for and with one another simply because they are intelligent, strong women. It’s ugly.

Has there been a situation in your life that would have or should have caused you to throw in the towel? If so, what gave you the drive to push forward?

There have been many situations in my life that would have caused me to throw in the towel but, GOD rich in His grace in mercy kept me! For example, I became homeless as a child. My mom’s boyfriend was a drug addict. Our house was raided twice by the FBI. What I like about God is that He performs tremendous miracles in the midst of tragedy!!! In spite of all of this madness, the Lord saved me at 12 years old. I went on to graduate Salutatorian of my graduating class in Jr. High and High School. I was awarded a full tuition scholarship to Howard University! Isn’t God WONDERFUL!!! I now have a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and several professional licenses. I’m grateful to God for it all!! Okay, so, I can go on and on. To be continued… 🙂

What is your favorite motivational quote?
I don’t have one. There are so many good ones out there. My favorite scripture is Psalm 1 in its entirety.

What is the one truth that you wish all women realized about themselves?

My husband says that we, women, don’t realize how much power we have. I agree with him.
